Twitter rolls out ‘While you were away’ Recap Feature
Twitter started to rollout a new feature “While you were away…” for your home timeline. The new feature is a recap of important tweets when users away since their last login.
Users are likely to missed important updates and tweets when they are away with his account. To address these issues twitter decided to roll out a new features that will allows you to see those relevant posts when you’re on the go.
Twitter product manager Paul Rosania said in a blog post: “A lot can happen while you’re on the go. To fill in some of those gaps, we will surface a few of the best Tweets you probably wouldn’t have seen otherwise, determined by engagement and other factors. If you check in on Twitter now and then for a quick snapshot of what’s happening, you’ll see this recap more often; if you spend a lot of time on Twitter already, you’ll see it less.”
Recap rollout begins to appear for all Twitter for iOS users includes iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch only and will roll out soon for Google’s Android mobile OS and for the Web.
If you compare Twiiter’s recap features with Facebook news feeds, then you will find it more similar which shows status updates and posts in a ranked manner. Earlier twitter updates “What’s happening? Box” looks exactly the same as the location of Facebook’s status box.
Seeing these new features on Twitter gives me the clear indication that they are following Facebook interface. It’s my view on these update but you know better who follow whom.
